1.  Our promise to you

One of our top priorities at Thomas & Company is making sure that the information we have about you is protected and secure.  We recognize the importance of maintaining your privacy and the security of personal information that you provide to us.  Due to the nature of our business however, we may need to collect and share certain types of information about you.  This privacy policy statement explains how we use customer information.  Please let us know if you have specific preferences about how your personal information is to be used.

2.  Types of information we collect

We collect information you give us on applications, census forms, surveys, etc.  We also collect information that is given to us by others including insurers, employers and other related parties in our industry in order to conduct the business you wish to transact on your behalf.

3.  How we share information

We do not share information with companies outside of our organization for them to contact you for their own marketing purposes.

We do share information with our affiliates including insurers and other affiliated organizations for purposes of securing quotes, negotiating renewals, administration, resolution of service issues and other business related purposes as necessary to conduct day to day business matters. 

Under the law we are permitted to share information about current and former customers with governmental agencies or authorized third parties under certain circumstances.  For example, we may be required to share such information if subpoenaed to do so or to comply with certain laws.

4.  How we protect information

We protect your information by taking a number of steps to ensure your privacy including restricting access to information on a need to know basis as it relates to our providing services to you and by safeguarding it from unauthorized individuals by limiting access to our databases.  We do our utmost to insure that your information is restricted by having in place administrative, electronic, mechanical and physical safeguards although we cannot guarantee complete security of the information. 

5. Former customers

We only share information about former customers with members of our staff or companies outside our organization in order to perform services on our behalf or as may be required under the law. We do not share information about former customers with companies outside our organization for use in contacting you for marketing purposes.

7. How long we keep your information

As long as we are providing service to you, we will maintain the information about you. If necessary, we may maintain the information longer for business purposes. When we no longer need the information for business purposes, we will destroy it unless there is an outstanding request or order to inspect the information.

8. Changes to Our Privacy Policy

We reserve the right to change this privacy policy at any time. We will note any significant changes on the Home page of our website if we have updated the policy. We will try to notify you 30 days in advance of the effective date for any changes we implement in this policy.
